An African in Japan: Teaching E.F.L

This blog is a work in progress. Through it, I want to document my adventures, as I work, travel, and discover Japan as an Exchange Teacher from Prince George's County Public Schools, MD, U.S.A. The title has a dual interpretation. It could either be Teaching English as a Foreign Language, or more interestingly, Teaching English in a Foreign Land!

From PGCPS to Sagamihara: Teaching English in a Foreign Land

I come from the Rio dos Camaroes, i.e. river of shrimps, which is the name for present day Cameroon. I studied at the University of Yaounde I/E.N.S, University of Edinburgh/Moray House College, Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ, USA. I moved to the U.S. in November, 2001. I have been teaching ESL/EFL, French, World History, and to a lesser extend, U.S. History

Goshintai

This is a portable shrine used to carry the incarnation of the figure central to the Shinto belief. It is used during (sacred) religious festivals.
